The Who – Denver Pepsi Center Concert March 29, 2016 – Song Director review
The Denver show 2016- The power and energy of the show was surprising with Pete Townsend doing the windmill strums on his guitar and even jumping on “Join Together” Roger Daltrey ‘s voice sounded as good as he did 40 years ago. The power of his voice has not changed in 70 years. Pete Townsend’s younger brother Simon Townsend was a great help on rhythm guitar and Ringo Star’s son – Zak Starkey did a great job on the drums. Keymen Loren Gold and John Corey and Frank Simes on the keyboards, backing vocals and jew’s harp. Pino Palladino played the bass guitar parts.
Roger’s performance on “Love Reign O’er Me” was an amazing vocal masterpiece. This is another show I was surprised with, lots of energy from the old guys.
Tal Wilkenfeld – The female bass player for Jeff Beck opened the show and had a great performance – she is also a talented singer performing all the bass and vocal parts as the leader of her own band.
